Information we collect

When you request a consultation, the form asks for your first and last name, email address, optional phone number, preferred contact method, the topic you need help with, and any message you choose to provide.

How we use it

We use this information to review your request, contact you, arrange a consultation, provide requested services, and maintain necessary business correspondence. We do not sell client information. Contact details and consultation information are not used for newsletters or promotional marketing without separate express consent.

Formspree processing

The consultation form is processed by Formspree, a third-party form-delivery service. Formspree handles only the initial website inquiry and delivers it to our Proton Mail inbox. We manually remove the Formspree copy when the inquiry closes because it has been resolved, becomes a qualified lead, or becomes a client relationship. You may bypass Formspree by emailing hello@theelderit.com directly. Formspree and Proton handle information under their own privacy and security terms.

Devices, accounts, and credentials

Most sessions guide you while you remain in control of your device. With explicit permission, we may operate a device, configure business systems, or manage agreed backend infrastructure. Clients maintain access to managed systems. Passwords are never recorded or stored. Clients normally enter passwords and verification codes themselves. If a client requires hands-on assistance, permission must be explicit and the credential must not appear in notes, recordings, screenshots, reports, or retained files.

Sensitive information

Do not submit passwords, one-time verification codes, banking information, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, private cryptographic keys, or other account credentials through the website. Sensitive on-device work, where required, is handled during the service under the credential rules above.

Session notes and recordings

We may take written notes during a session. Audio or video is recorded only after asking for permission. You may decline recording without losing access to the service; written notes will be used instead. Recordings, detailed working files, and client reports form part of the client file. They may be deleted at your request and are removed when your account is deleted or services end, subject to records we must retain by law. We may retain our own non-sensitive summary containing contact information, service dates, the length of the engagement, and a general description of work completed. Passwords, codes, and detailed account information are not included in that summary.

Age requirements

Individuals aged 16 or 17 may request personal services only with a parent or guardian involved and present for safety. Business-tier services require the contracting client to be at least 18 years old.

Payments

Current payment methods may include e-transfer, direct deposit, cash, or cheque. The Elder IT does not store complete payment-card credentials or online-banking passwords. If Stripe or another payment processor is introduced later, payment information will be handled under that processor's terms and this notice will be updated before use.

Service providers and managed systems

Website inquiries use Formspree and Proton Mail. A managed service may require additional infrastructure, automation, AI, payment, or technical providers. Any service-specific processing must be disclosed and agreed as part of the engagement before client information is placed in those systems. We do not disclose client information for unrelated purposes.

Testimonials and generalized learning

Consultation details are not published. A testimonial or review is republished only with separate permission covering the wording, the name or anonymity level, and where it may appear. We may create generalized technical lessons from completed work—for example, how to correct a device setting—but those lessons are separated from the interaction and do not identify the client.

Retention, access, and deletion

Email correspondence is retained until the inquiry or service matter is resolved, then managed according to the client-record rules above. Administrative, transaction, and non-sensitive service-summary records may be retained for at least six years from the end of the last tax year they relate to, or longer where required by law. You may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing hello@theelderit.com. We aim to respond within 7–10 business days. A deletion request does not require us to destroy records that must be retained for tax, accounting, dispute, security, or other legal purposes.

Local preference storage

The website may store one text-size preference in your browser so your accessibility setting persists. This preference remains on your device and is not transmitted to The Elder IT.
